Barnashaig is at the west side of the Knapdale Peninsula near Tayvallich, between Loch Sween and the Sound of Jura.

In a very pretty valley a quarter of a mile away from another megalith at Upper Fernoch and across a small loch (Loch Dun Calltuinn) from the hill-top fortification of Dun Calltuinn, stands this splendid twelve-foot tall megalith. It is roughly rhomboid in cross section and decorated with four or five cup-marks.
