This group of stones are thought to be a four-poster with two outlier stones, with one of the stones from the circle having been later moved so that they are now in two close groups of three. The tall standing stone is one of the outliers. The circle has a diameter of around nine metres.
One of the circle stones has a cup mark in its upper surface close to a much more modern drill-hole from when an attempt was made to destroy the stone.
This circle is in the middle of a golf course - for me, that is not the most atmospheric setting for a stone circle. If you're planning a visit, check with the clubhouse first...and remember to keep an eye open for low-flying missiles!
