Although somewhat ruined, this is one of the twenty largest stone circles in Britain being approximately 55 metres in diameter.

The Burn of Latheronwheel has eroded right up to the edge of the circle with the westernmost stones standing right on its edge, but happily it has yet to undermine the stones themselves. There are eight stones still here, one of which is broken. The stones of the eastern part of the circle - possibly as many as seven of them - are lost.

The tallest stone is 1.5 metres (just under 5 feet) tall and stands on the edge of the burn.

A cairn lies just to the south of the broken stone at the southern point of the circle.
