This fort, probably Iron Age, stands atop Burgh Hill near Teviothead.
The area is rich with earthworks from ancient settlements.
On the same hill, just a short distance away, is Burgh Hill stone circle.
Ramparts protected a significant settlement, except on the northwest
side where the hill falls away sharply.
