Stone Circle Canmore
Also known as Achkinloch; Achinloch

Almost unique (there is one other similar shaped setting), the stones of this "circle" stand in a horseshoe or truncated oval arrangement with the long edges of the stones running across the line of the setting rather than along it.

There were once 54 stones in the setting, but now there are 34. The horseshoe opens to the south-southeast and is about 70 metres long and 25 metres wide. Most of the stones are around one metre tall, but with taller stones at the southern opening standing two metres tall.
