Machrie Moor 3
Blackwaterfoot, Isle of Arran
Stone Circle Canmore

Machrie Moor, on the west side of Arran, is soaked through with archaeology going back 5,500 years.

A very obvious feature of the moor is the group of six stone circles set very close together.

Circle 3 was a ring of nine stones, although only one now remains standing, around 4.5 metres (14 feet) tall. Two cists were found within the circle, one containing a crouched burial and the other containing cremation remains and flint flakes.
